Specify whether to use the website builder. Websites built from scratch require a fairly detailed understanding of HTML coding, but you can easily create a website with free hosting service like Weebly, Wix, WordPress or Google Sites. Website creators tend to make first-time designers easier than HTML.
If you decide to encode your website, you will need to know both HTML and CSS coding.

Map your location. Before you open a website builder, you should know approximately how many pages you want your website to contain, what the content of each of these pages should be, and the general design of important pages such as the home page and "about" the page.
It may be easy to visualize your website pages if you draw rough images of each of them instead of specifying the content that should appear.

3
Use an intuitive design. While there is something to say about new ideas, the basic design of your website must follow specific guidelines such as the following:
Navigation options (such as tabs for different pages) should appear at the top of the page.
If you are using a menu symbol (☰), it should be in the upper-left corner of the page.
If you are using a search bar, it should be near the upper-left side of the page.
Useful links (such as links to the "About" or "Contact Us" page) should go to the bottom of each page.
4
Be consistent. Whatever the text font, color palette, image theme, and design options you choose, make sure that you use the same resolution throughout your website. It can be very difficult to see a font or color scheme used for an "around" page when using a completely different font for the home page. [1]
For example, if you use cool colors exclusively for the home page of your site, do not apply bright and loud colors on the next page.
Keep in mind that the use of loud or contrasting colors, especially when colors are displayed dynamically (for example, animated), can trigger epilepsy in a small number of web users. If you decide to use these colors on your site, be sure to add epilepsy warning before any relevant pages.
5
Add navigation options. Placing direct links to important pages on your website at the top of the home page will help direct first-time visitors to the content that interests you. Most website creators add these links by default.
It is important to ensure that every page on your website is accessible by clicking on the options on your website rather than just accessing it via the page title.
6
Use colors that complement each other. Like any other type of design, website design relies on visual color combinations. Because of this, choosing the theme colors that go together is crucial.
Black, white and gray are a good combination if you don't know where to start.
7
Consider using a simple design. Its simplicity encourages cool colors, simple graphics, black and white text pages, and minimal decorations. Since simplicity doesn’t require a lot of luxury elements, it is an easy way to make your website look professional and attractive without much work.
Many website creators will have a "simple" attribute that you can define when setting up your website.
An alternative to its "brutality" simplicity, which uses stricter fonts, vivid colors, wide text, and minimal images. Brutality is less than following the bare minimum, but depending on the content of your website, it might better suit your design needs.

8
Make unique choices. Straight lines and networked web elements are safe bets, but making some unique stylistic decisions will personalize your site and help distinguish your site.
Don't be afraid to face trends by placing asymmetric website elements or using nested elements to create a multi-layered look.
While elegant, sharp corners and square elements (also known as a "card-based" presentation) are less preferred than the soft round elements.
